Hi,

Did you see any change on the traffic from google robots ?

Any difference on the referencement ?

I haven't looked at your code yet, how do you weight the various node (seem to remember you can indicate to google how according to you each page is relative to the other on your site).

Hi Xavier,

since we are using sitemaps in our projects, the traffic and from the google bots have increased and are indexing the sites more frequently.

Project mobello.de:
April 2008 (without sitemap):
1000-4000 daily index sites

Juli (with cronjob based sitemap)
Max daily: 8122
average daily: 5517

The index sites have also increased from 6.000 sites to more than 10.000 sites.
So we have much more traffic on that project.

The code itself within the extension is very simple:
- fetch a defined tree
- generate xml dom
- save to file

Due to setting priorities for all pages may become very complex,
I made the experience it's better so let google handle priorities of the pages.
Usually this is done by the number of visits on that specific page.

The priority itself is not implemented within the extension yet.
We may discuss about that and implement it if someone needs it.

take a look here:http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.php

You will have some pb if your sitemap contains more than 50000 urls or if the size of the file is biger than 10Mo.
You should implement a sitemap index

Hi Stéphane,

thanks for the hint. We also know that 10 MB issue from Google.
We'll implement this together with multilingual urls for different siteaccesses with ez publish 4.1 and the new release of this extension.

Great extension, but I have a few questions.

I use eZ in the "VirtualHostMode" and remove the index.php from the URL by htaccess. But in the generated sitemap the index.php is still in the URL. How can I change this?

When will multilingual pages be supported?

Hi,

I tried to use this extension, but i have a strange error:

# php extension/all2egooglesitemaps/cronjobs/generate.php

Fatal error: Call to a member function output() on a non-object in /var/www/extension/all2egooglesitemaps/cronjobs/generate.php on line 4

-> line 4: $cli->output( "Generating Sitemap...\n" );

I followed all the instructions and the system is a ezp 4.0.0 on a Debian 4 server.

Any idea, why this is happening?

Thanks,
Andreas Kaiser

Sorry Norman,

The developer that made the test didn't explain it right, when we use the right command we get:

Hi Andrei,

we've merged this cronjob extension with http://projects.ez.no/xrowmetadata
The metadatatype contains a datatype where you can simply setup the change fequency and priority as well as title and description.

Hi,

I've an Ezpublish installation with multiple web site and I realize the sitemap generated isn't for a good site access.

I declared extension on global site.ini because if I declare it on my siteaccess corresponding of my website, the cronjob doesn't work.

Have you got any idea about my problem ?

Thanks a lot.
